photo/DAY Project
Beginning on 9 February 2009, I set myself a goal to take one new photograph every day for 365 days. Each photograph was to be uploaded to Flickr before the end of the day with no excuses. This collection is the result of that project.
Print Publication
Client: P&O Cruises
To celebrate the launch of Pacific Pearl – P&O Cruises' newest superliner – this 44-page booklet was distributed as a souvenir to the first travel agents and passengers to step onboard. Only 3500 booklets were produced, making them a unique gift to P&O Cruises' passengers and trade partners.
Due to its limited run and the highly targetted nature of the booklet, this project offered an opportunity to creatively step outside the P&O Cruises brand guidelines and really make the final product my own.
Logo Design
Client: Slabseal Australia Pty Ltd
Website: slabseal.com.au
Working under a brand that had become outdated, Slabseal Australia requested my help in refreshing their logo and creating a modern identity for the business. A few key elements were considered essential in the final design.
Slabseal's previous logo incorporated two water drops into the design, which have been carried over to this design in order to maintain the integrity of the brand. The blue colour of the previous logo has also been translated across and modernised with the use of a subtle gradient.
Logo Design
Client: LucyClaire
With a plan to create a fashion doll marketed as the anti-Barbie, LucyClaire required a logo that is classically elegant, yet appealing to modern-day mothers and their daughters between the ages of three and seven.
A heavily modified script font was employed to achieve the classic, elegant look that the client desired, while the reversed logo on an aqua background achieves a feminine look without resorting to a stereotypically pink and yellow colour palette.
Logo Design
Client: Krontek
Website: krontek.com
With a new product range being released, Krontek required a recognisable logo to appear on the faces of their Syncroline series clocks. The final design needed to be clean and somehow incorporate the blue colour of the Krontek logo.
The clean design was achieved with a simple, rounded font, while the blue was incorporated into the hand of the accompanying clock graphic.
Logo & Business Card Design
Client: Asgard Engineering
As an engineering company that specialises in designing and building high-performance racing cars, and with a name inspired by Norse mythology, Asgard Engineering required a fitting identity that would reflect the company’s roots.
The client requested liberal use of metallic finishes, carbon fibre textures, and a prominent horned Viking helmet that would be simplistic enough for it to be machined into the steel aftermarket car parts that the company produces.
Logo & Collateral Design
Client: Gordon Physiotherapy Sports & Spinal
Having been operating under an outdated and inconsistent brand for some time, my client felt it was finally time for a change.
They needed a logo that would be familiar to returning patients of Gordon Physiotherapy, but at the same time, they wanted a new and contemporary identity that would draw in new patients to the practice.
While the client was not entirely certain of the look they desired for the new logo, their one request was that it reflect the active lifestyles of their patients.
Photography
Client: Doughboy Pizza
Website: doughboypizza.com.au
The issue faced by Doughboy Pizza centred around their online menu, which wasn't representing the high quality of their pizzas with effective photography. I was commissioned to help overhaul the menu with brand new photos of each different pizza.
Previously, Doughboy's menu featured photos of their pizzas taken from a low angle, making the variety of toppings difficult to determine. I was able to rectify this problem by taking the new photos from directly above each pizza in a consistent position.
Photography
Client: Personal Project
Beginning on 9 February 2009, I set myself a goal to take one new photograph every day for 365 days. Each photograph was to be uploaded to Flickr before the end of the day with no excuses.
The primary focus of this project was on honing my skills in photography by regularly testing the limits of my creativity. I did not set out to create the most amazing photographs ever seen; I only aimed to take one new photograph every day and see what I happened to come up with along the way.
